Agnes Jorgensen and André Chatelain are
the Founders of 'Painting a New World Foundation / Fondation
Peindre un Nouveau Monde (PNMWF). We are artists who believe we
can make a difference by helping other artists. PNMW is a public
Foundation, dedicated to inspire young people of Africa to
become leaders through art. In shaping a better future for
themselves, they will help to transform the perception of
Africa.
The main objective of the Foundation is to
provide art supplies and funding for education to enable young
artists to express their talents. PNMW will present selected
artists with art kits that include a variety of
paints, brushes, a sketch board, chalk and canvas. Based on
proposed themes, we ask them to create artworks. Through a
selection process, the most talented artists and creative
artworks are chosen, awarded and marketed. The proceeds are then
equally shared between the artists of Africa and the Foundation,
to encourage future African artists to empower themselves and
help their community.
To introduce the elementary school children
to art, PNMW has created a fun and educative art exchange
workshop. This exchange workshop is comprised of a group of
young school children painting a theme mural on a large canvas.
The completed mural is then taken to Africa to be shared with a
group of young African children who will create a second mural
to return to the Canadian school children.
PNMWF is privileged to be working with the
Free The
Children Organization which is the world's largest
network of children helping children through education. They are
helping us to implement our art programs in schools and
communities in Kenya.
