WHO WE ARE
Painting a New World – Peindre un Nouveau Monde (PNMW) is an organization founded in Montreal in 2008 by Agnes Jorgensen and Andre Chatelain.
We believe that art has the power to create positive change for the benefit and sustainability of communities locally and in developing countries.
Painting a New World is a member of Friends of The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS. These individuals and organizations share our mission and belief that art can serve as a catalyst for healing individuals, society and the environment, that art can raise awareness and lift our spirits.

In July 2020, Renee Phillips produced an interview with Agnes and Andre about PNMW
The organization focuses mainly on supporting artists in Africa and Haiti through a mural art program. The murals must be appropriate to the context of the community and present a socially conscious message. Murals are painted on school walls and/or community centers by local artists.
The aim is to create positive change by employing local artists and educating communities about their environment and future.
The mural project is funded by the founders of PNMW, Agnes and Andre, through the sales of their original artworks.

PNMW has funded 25 murals in Kenya and successfully implemented the program in Chad where we now have 7 murals in different schools of N’Djamena and another one at the school Notre-Dame de Paillant in Haiti.
PNMW was featured in ART4ANY magazine in January 2020.
